MineHub has launched a new tool to better track carbon emissions and ESG requirements.

Vancouver-based MineHub has launched a tool that tracks carbon emissions as well as ESG compliance.

The tool is integrated with the MineHub platform, and will allow mining companies to capture and administer ESG credentials. It also provides a pathway for mining companies to manage their Scope 3 emissions emanating from suppliers, so long as suppliers also link up to the tool.

The tool also enables mining companies to request and record third-party certification of their ESG credentials, as well as automating the inclusion of certified ESG data relating to the sale, purchase, and financing of projects.

MineHub's latest offering provides coverage of every step of the supply chain, the company said, from the mine to the smelter to manufacturing and beyond.

The tool "can actually be used well beyond mining and metals, in any supply chain," MineHub chief executive Arnoud Star Busmann said.

MineHub said it is working with other companies to increase the breadth of ESG-related data and certifications for customers.
