Epiroc plans to leverage Radlink's strengths in providing wireless data and voice communication networks for future automation plans - Radlink already provides supporting infrastructure to surface and underground mines throughout Australia.

"Robust wireless networks are vital to support mining automation, including autonomous and teleremote solutions, which in turn strengthen safety and productivity", said Epiroc.

Radlink has approximately 330 employees and had revenues in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022, of about A$145 million (US$93.4 million).

Epiroc announced on September 19, 2022, that it had agreed to acquire the majority stake.

The Radlink news comes just a day after Epiroc revealed its plans to snap up equipment automation technology provider Remote Control Technologies for an undisclosed sum.

Epiroc also last year bought the remaining 66% of Mobilaris Mining and Civil Engineering that it did not already own, reported Australia's Mining Monthly last September. It bought an initial 34% stake in the advanced situational solutions provider in 2017.

Epiroc also entered into a partnership with Autonomous Solutions Inc to provide agnostic automation to miners. That partnership's first project was with WA iron ore miner Roy Hill.
