Founded in Perth, Australia in 2014, Global IO will be amalgamated with Deloitte's consulting practices in Australia, Canada and Chile as part of their operations transformation offering.
Global IO was involved with the development of BHP's Integrated Remote Operating Centre in Perth.
Anthony Viel, CEO of Deloitte Canada, said the addition of Global IO would be a key differentiator for the firm. He added: "Global IO's strong reputation, deep relationships within the energy and resources and mining sectors, and credibility will allow us both to expand our efforts and provide dependable services to our clients from start to finish in a more agile and deliberate way."
There will be 17 Global IO employees joining Deloitte across office in Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary in Canada; Santiago, Chile; and Perth, Western Australia.
Steven Walsh, consulting partner at Deloitte Australia, said Deloitte had worked closely with Global IO for some time and welcomed its addition to the Perth office. He added: "It will really simplify the operational transformation journey for our clients."
Dominic Collins, Global IO partner, commented that the acquisition was a great opportunity to not only better serve its clients but to expand its services with new resources and broaden its scale and scope.
He said: "We're now able to increase our efforts in areas such as change management, digital strategy and analytics, and deliver dependable services our customers, and Deloitte, has come to expect."
