Luxembourg-based Eurasian Resources Group (ERG) has chosen Germany's ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions for a $44 million filter technology project at the Pavlodar Alumina Plant (PAS) in Kazakhstan.

ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions will replace four electric filters on sintering furnaces No. 4 and No. 5 at PAS.

The project is set to significantly lower the concentration of dust in the exhaust gases at the plant, and is part of wider environmental initiatives there, said ERG.

"The project forms part of a large-scale programme to replace old filters with modern hybrid ones, "Roman Romanov, President of Aluminium of Kazakhstan JSC "In 2020, ThyssenKrupp replaced the first two filters on furnaces No. 1 and 2 at PAS.
