Bentley Systems division acquires smart data management platform

Aquisition will add to Seequent's greenfield exploration offerings

Bentley Systems division acquires smart data management platform

Bentley Systems, Incorporated, an infrastructure software company, has announced its Seequent business unit has acquired Canadian software company Minalytix, the developer of MX Deposit, to improve its cloud-based capabilities and solutions for the mining industry.

Additionally, the acquisition will add to Seequent's greenfield exploration, resource development and mining production operations, according to Bentley Systems.

By integrating MX Deposit, Seequent's customers will be able to access, manage and share drill hole and other field data throughout the lifecycle of a deposit.

Its data collection processes enable streamlined workflows with fewer errors and greater collaboration between teams, the company claimed.

Mining companies are already using MX Deposit with other geophysics and geology data management and modelling tools to find, develop and manage deposits and improve decision-making through data.

As a Software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution, it can be auto-scaled to meet users' data management needs and can be utilised by small to multi-national companies; there are also no limits on how much data can be stored.

Graham Grant, chief executive, Seequent, described drill and sample data as the lifeblood for mining companies' exploration strategies, and that MX Deposit will be integrated with its newly acquired geoscientific imagery platform Imago.
