Horizontal shaft impactors use a high-speed impacting force to encourage stones to break along their natural cleavage lines for a cubically shaped end material.
Set to be officially introduced to the industry at Conexpo-Con/Agg 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada, US, the Sentry HSI has been designed with a fully fabricated open-style rotor, which produces low-inertia energy for a lower cost of ownership.
"In addition, proper spacing inside the crusher's chamber creates more area for processing larger feed sizes," officials for the Minnesota company said.
"Owners and operators will safely and easily complete maintenance functions of the HSI's mainframe components via a hydraulically controlled opening and closing feature."
The Sentry's design also includes side liners, hydraulically adjusted curtains, mainframe inspection doors and a replacement upper feed opening. For hard-rock applications, the unit has one- or two-piece blow bars with two or four rotors and fixed clamping.
Superior's new release will be available in 15 different models, defined by rotor size. Its production capacities will range from 90-990 short tons per hour (80-900 metric tonnes per hour) with maximum feed sizes between 15 and 40 inches (400 and 1,000 millimetres).
In addition to the Sentry HSI, Superior said further crushing, screening, washing and conveying products set for launch at the March event include the Fusion modular platform, belt drive Valor vertical shaft impact (VSI) crusher, bolted model Liberty jaw crusher, Alliance low-water washer and portable Spirit wash plant.
It will showcase equipment with new features as well: the Anthem inclined screen, gear drive Valor vertical shaft Impact (VSI) crusher, P500 Patriot cone crusher, Aggredry dewatering washer and TeleStacker conveyor.
